The main advantage is it can store a lot of cels. If you have 50 cels in your collection, you definitely need to buy a cel book/folder to store all your cels. Unless you want to spend lots of money and time to frame each of them and hang them on the wall. Secondly, you can carry the cel book everywhere, like cel trading with local friends. Thirdly, you can place your cel book in a cool and non-humid area to make your cels last longer. Plus after you placed them in the cel book, it will avoid direct sunlight and UV unlike the cels that you put in frames hanging on the wall. The disadvantage is if you just put the cels in the cel book without any bags covering it, the cel may ended up sticking with the paper separator in the cel book. It is wise that you buy some bags or sheets to cover the cels first, then put them into the cel book. For example, get the bags/sheets that made with Mylar or Polypropylene. About cel framing, glass with UY protection is good, but be sure the UV goating is on the outside of the glass, but not inside facing the cel. To me, I put most of my cels in the cel book, and put a few framed cels on the wall. |
