Well, if you're getting that many conflicting viewpoints, there is obviously no consensus. However, there is an answer to what to do with pencils somewhere in the forum archives too, which I tend to trust to some extent (I'm not sitting around moving pencils that don't want to move myself). I guess the best would be to go to a gallery, but if it's not worth the value of the cel, you're stuck not doing anything or trying one of the many other methods. Personally, I'd have great great doubts to using a hair dryer, what is that supposed to do? Melt the paint more so it's all runny and you can remove the pencil? That would seem to ruin the pencil. I don't know how making it colder would help either. If you're unsure, the best thing to do would be to leave it alone. Only try the 'gentley peel' method (as described earllier on this forum and in various other places), AT YOUR OWN RISK. Keys |
