Yes, I have done this, and you can probably see it from the
mistakes I sometimes make on the descriptions I put besides the 
cels in my gallery.  That is pretty embarrassing when the true fans
point my mistakes out. =)

There are some reasons that I do this:

1.  I am afraid that someone else is going to take that cel before I 
get the chance to watch the anime, when I know that I am going to love
that anime.
2.  It is safe (in the sense that it will still have a great value in the future)
and satisfactory to have a cel of a popular series.
3.  I have read the manga but have not watched the anime of it. 
4.  I have watched some episodes, but not all, and liked it.
5.  I know(or suspect) that it's valuable.


Since nice cels go very fast into buyers' hands.  When I see a nice cel,
there is always a feeling of crisis urging me to get the cel before anyone does
so I won't regret later.  But this is not always the case for me though, and I am
trying to eliminate buying series that I have not watched, because it really gives you 
a greater satisfaction to get a cel after you have seen the anime/episode.

It sounds a bit pathetic, but I am trying not to watch too many animes since I like
something really easily and once I liked an anime, I would want to have all the nice cels of it. 
And I am concentrating on esca cels right now, the rational part of me
knows that I won't be able to afford other series.
