It is interesting that you think these tactics would be immature since it is the inevitable
result of market forces. Auctions are fun but easily abused. By pushing the send
at 5 seconds you deny the other person a response in a sense locking out
the other bidder. I consider my action a measured reponse to unfair
(at least poorly spirited) tactics. It is fair since it has the possibility
of punishing only the offender rather than you.
I sympathize with your feelings and I wish the world were nicer for you.
It bring up an interesting point that Yann once wrote me that he disliked auctions
because they were bad for the hobby. At the time he said that I thought
it was kind of funny. Now I know what he means. Unfortunately for
you I am very much an adult and wish I could say the world is
nice, but all too often it is not.
