Questions to Beth:
What is your goal of selling cels? To make money? To get
the first pick at cels you receive? Do you intend to go at
it full speed, or just sell a few cels now and then?
It's not as fun and profitable as one may think. You need
to invest a fair amount of money. And it takes a lot of
time to scan cels in and handle orders/webpage updates.
A large number of cel "dealers" in the US don't travel to
Japan to get cels; rather they have contacts in Japan. It
could be a relative, or just another cel collector that
they happen to know. Or a company in a few cases.
I suggest you e-mail some cel dealers personally, if you really
intend to become a serious cel dealer. They might be willing
to help you out a bit, although cel suppliers are often
tightly held secrets.
Remember that your cel supplier will send you cels that
they pick out, so you will always be stuck with some cels
that you may not find desirable and are difficult to sell.
So consider the money investment.
And people may hate you if you price your cels too high.
(Cel dealers are not all saints-- many cave in to the
evil force called greed... Resist the dark side, Beth ^_^.) |
