I think we should do something: encourage everyone who paints 
fanart cels to /sign/ their cels. This way even if they give a 
cel away or sell it, it will be marked as theirs. I know there is 
no way to enforce this, but we as a cel community are pretty strong. 
If none of us were to buy a fanart cel which wasn't signed and if we 
promoted fan painters who /did/ sign their work and followed appropriate 
copyright guidelines (whatever they are) for fan art, then maybe people 
would feel a little better about it.
Personally I don't have a problem with painting your own cels, but I make 
very certain no one would confuse them with production cels and I certainly 
hope that others do the same.
