I was just curious as to the decisions folks have
to make when they bring their cels over to a
convention for a cel gathering.
For instance, how many cel books do you usually
take to such meetings? Especially if you're
flying into the convention; I'm sure that you
don't want to overload the amount of luggage the
airline allows you to carry without penalty fees.
On top of that, I find it a little tiring just to
carry more than 2-3 full books to a meeting and
back. And even then I would typically just carry
those cel books in a suitcase with rollers, since
I may have to walk a good distance at the end of
a long day of convention-ing.
Still, if I really limit the amount of cels I
bring, how do I decide what people would like to
see? If I was a collector who concentrates on
only a few anime titles, that wouldn't be a
problem (since I'd just take my best cels). But
if I have a wide assortment of titles in my
collection, that becomes more problematic?
Also, would people at these meetings really care
about non-cel items that have been autographed?
Examples would include signed pencil boards,
signboards, & etc. Or would you rather see more
impressive looking cels that were not autographed?
These days I would prefer to just carry just 1-2
books in a shoulder bag, so that means I would
need to bring a small selection of stuff I think
would hopefully please the most people.
What do you typically do in these cases? |
