well, if you mean favorite "new" anime then 
that's easy; but i hate comparing old anime to 
new anime.  my favorite of the anime still coming 
out right now has got to be Full Metal Alchemist, 
which is currently on episode 45 of 52, and 
Naruto, which is on episode 98 of lord knows how 
many ;).

my favorite anime that have already been 
completed recently is definately Wolf's Rain and 
Full Metal Panic (TV series), although if you 
want to go back to traditional cel anime i'd have 
to say FLCL or Martian Successor Nadesico.
