You will get screwed unless there is the paypal 
shield. 

I found this out today.  

1) the person will not be liable to pay off 
anything in his account because paypal can't take 
any money out of their checking account.  so if 
they don't want to pay its ok.  They will just 
not be able to log into their account.  They will 
have a hold but they don't have to pay anything.

2) If you pay for an item and the person doesn't 
send the item.  You can put in a item not 
received complaint.  All the person has to do is 
put a piece of paper in the mail send a tracking 
number to paypal and all is fine for them.  They 
will have no negative recourse.
