Part of it's that, yes. Part of it's the current
cel market, too, for the last several months. A
lot of would-be cel collectors find their jobs a
little uncertain, their nest egg a little small,
need to save up for tuition, need to save up for
the next convention... and so there's less money
to jump in and compete with other bidders. You
also have lots of people trying to sell cels, and
relatively few are buying--- so prices tend to
often drop, where people are willing to let a
$150 cel go for $100 if they want the money
*now*. And part of it is that the particular
seller I think you're referring to has kind of
glutted the market recently (ie, at least the
last ten months), and spoiled us... although I'm
very happy that he has done so, as my collection
is much larger for it. ^_^ But it's had the side-
effect of making us grasshopper-types come to the
realization that, with so much coming past, we
can sit back on our haunches and wait for a
*good* one, as opposed to snatching up anything.
So instead of fifty people all fighting for a
shot of the back of someone's head, the
competition goes down, and decent shots end up
going for reasonable prices, instead of, say, the
triple-digits they would've sold for this time
last year. ^_^
But those are probably the biggest reasons. ^_^
