I need some advice as to what to do in this
situation. Last month, I bought a cel from a
private collector, who advertised her cels on
this forum. According to her for sale page, the
cel is $100 and comes with a sketch. After
exchanging some emails, I paid her $100 plus
shipping and she sent me the cel. However, when I
received the cel on the 14th of last month, there
was no sketch in the package. Naturally, I
emailed the seller and asked her about the
sketch. A week after sending her the email, she
replied back saying she swore she saw a sketch
with the cel and will try to "look into it", and
she also asked me to wait for her reply. I really
appreciated her effort and waited as she had
asked. About a week later, I was randomly
browsing through some online cel galleries and
came upon this particular seller's old Geocities
page where she had listed her cels for sale there
before getting her own domain. I noted that she
previously listed the cel I bought for $70 with
NO sketch. I immediately emailed her and stated
my observations. Even though I felt a bit
cheated, I was willing to give her a benefit of a
doubt and decided that it was probably an honest
mistake on her part. I told her what I felt but I
also requested for a partial refund for the
absense of the sketch. But she didn't contact me
at all. A week ago, I emailed her yet again to
remind her of the sketch incident... but still
nothing from her.
It's been one whole month since I've received the
cel and I've only heard one reply back from her.
I really don't want nor like to drag things this
long. But I really have no idea what to do. "An
honest mistake" is a beautiful way to phrase this
situation. If I have to put this in a blunt way,
I would call this fraud because this seller knows
she does not have the sketch but is doing nothing
about it. Any ideas as to what I should do?
Thanks in advance for any input and help.
