Heat and UV radiation are two different things
that both cause damage to objects-- cels in this
case-- but are often found in the same source--
ie, ambient lighting.
Fluorescent lights emit less heat than do
incandescent bulbs (hence, "colder"). The way
fluorescent lights work, though, is by converting
UV radiation into visible light. It's my
impression that fluorescent lights give off less
UV rays than other light sources, unless the
fluorescent bulb is specifically designed to give
off UV rays (ie, in medical cases, special bulbs
looking for mildew, etc), but I can't say for
sure. ;o)
But overall, scanning a few times isn't going to
hurt anything.
