I was not real keen on adding to this topic, but
I feel America deserves a fair shake. How sad is
it that the non-Americans on this board know more
about our history than some of the U.S. citizens
here? Anyway, here are a few cool things we
Americans did come up with...
Coca-Cola- Gotta admit, it's pretty damn nice on
a hot day. And it can remove rust from an engine
block! It's the main reason why I'm starting a
show-me thread at 4AM!
The Air Conditioner- Same as above, except for
the engine block thing.
As for the airplane, even DeVinci had some crude
drawings made up regarding the helicopter and
the "flight machine". But it was Samual Langley
who came up with the concept of the modern
airplane in the late 19th century. But I'm sure
this one will be debated for centuries to come.
The Train- The Pullman steamer. I love a nice
long train ride.
Alternating current- Couldn't hook up my laptop
without it. And yes, Tesla was Yugoslavian-born,
but an American citizen nontheless.
The light bulb- Couldn't find my laptop without
it.
The Copy Machine- Used for decades as a way for
drunk office assistants to make copies of their
bare ass and pass them about to shocked and
horrified coworkers.
Nylon- I don't wear them, but I'm sure their nice.
The Telephone- Reach out and touch someone!
The Sewing machine- Learned all about em in home
ec.
The polio vaccine- This guy had guts. Salk
infects himself with the virus and then tries out
the vaccine? Now that is dedication. My doctor
won't even warm his hands before the hernia exam.
And finally...Most modern handgun and rifle
designs(and I don't want to hear a bunch of anti-
NRA stuff on this. Guns were invented, deal with
it.)
With that said, SHOW ME SOME KILLER CELS OF
CHARACTERS WITH TOTALLY INSANE GUNS! I personally
only have one cel of a character with a gund, and
you've all seen it a hundred time so I won't post
it again. |
