OK, I have not been collecting cels for very long.
In fact, I have been collecting them for a little
over 2-3 months and just invested a LOT of money
for one cel (which I absolutely love!). Now, I
have a quesitons . . .
What types of cels are normally the most valuable?
I know, I know . . . it is all a matter of
opinion, but statistically, which would most
people pay for more than others?
From what I read, Portrait Cels (or "A" cels) are
worthe the most or considered to be superior over
any other kind, especially if it is made by the
key animator. Would pan cels be worth as much or
considered "inferior" to a standard size cel? I
used to think that they were just scraps work
which were drawn out by the animators in order to
think up of how to draw out a scene. And what
about the kind featured in magazines and art
books? I would assume these would be worth more
than any other cel since they wer hand picked byt
he creators, right?
What are your views and opinions about the way
cels are valued?
