First off, it's cool of you to respond to this.
However- I can see that you would not be able to 
ship items from your home, but why couldn't you 
mail cash or a check from your home?  People say 
things like "oh, so and so is my only ride" but 
you could have somebody pick up stamps at the 
grocery store.  You gotta eat so somebody 
somewhere is getting out of the house...

Sorry but I have had similar explanation from 
somebody and it just doesn't seem logical.
