1. I would say about 50% of my cels have come
from Yahoo Japan--with the sheer volume there,
you're bound to come across some great cels.
After that, about 33% were from Anime-Taro (and
being one of the first to an update). The rest
were private sales/trades and a couple from
other cel stores (Ed Noonchester and Usagi's
House).

2. Probably my most interesting story was from a
private sale. I received an e-mail completely
out of the blue asking if I could price a couple
of cels. I said sure, and the guy sent me 3 cel
scans. Two were pretty mediocre, but the third
was a real gem. He said he had picked the cels
up on a business trip to Japan. I gave the guy
the best appraisal I could, and offered to buy
that third cel. He accepted, saying that I had
been the most honest out of all the answers he
had received from other people.

Now, I was a bit nervous as well as excited.
First, I had never heard of the guy before and
he had no ebay history. He wanted a money order
for payment also (no Paypal). I was hesitant to
send the money, but the guy seemed honest and
the payoff would be worth it. It was, without
question, one of the best cels I've ever seen.

In the end, my gamble paid off. The guy sent
the cel as promised, and when I took it out of
the FedEx box, I was absolutely floored. The
cel was even better than I had hoped.

I'm very lucky to have avoided fraud in my years
of collecting, so I just wanted to share this
story for people who have been burned. There
still are people out there who are trustworthy.
And just so everyone knows what I got, here's
the cel I ended up with ;)
