Okay, nice read, but  how does this article 
explain where or how character cels were 
made or are available? That was my original 
question.

What this article states ,and given what  
Mr.Miyazaki himself has said in  the interview 
posted, gives only a different "impression" of 
CG used in the making of Sen to  Chihiro 
(scenary 3D effects use, etc), but this however 
doesn`t explain the actual use of  CG  to 
"make characters" . So, I believe that they 
(hand-painted cels) exist  but haven`t been 
available for "collectable consumption".

But the original thread is about  character cels 
mainly and their availability. Can anyone shed 
some light on this? I may have seen a few on 
a dealer sight a long time ago (Collection 
Mall?) maybe, but I don`t have a clear 
"recollection" ^-^.
