The new site while original isn't graphically
stimulating, nor creative with the use of space,
text, animation, and certainly not colors.
Also the lines leading from the top to the center
remind me of undergraduate college computer email
accounts, and when people used old line images as
signatures. Pretty plain. Sorry about the
relatively negative impressions Nick, but since
you asked for opinions, heres my two cents.
Oh and a few other things I noticed, the Ryoko
animated gif or file in the lower left is
difficult to view and I am using a 17" monitor.
Please consider raising the gif higher in
changing the placement. Also, I'd agree about the
placement of the series text; centering is hard
to read especially since it isn't one paragraph.
IMO the frames version with left justification
was easier to read. Maybe you can also add a page
strictly for updates with links to them? Or at
least, have the large cap locked font to clearly
signify updates for a series?
Also the cel images on the camera film is ok, but
I suggest considering alternative layouts as
well, possibly for future changes to the site.
And what purpose -if any- does those squarelike
boxes over the A and the C represent? Doesn't
seem to add anything.
Lastly, I noticed the placement of the forum
outline box IMO is too large. I don't think my
monitor sizing is the cause, I think it is how
the blue outline wasn't scaled to fit on one
page, without scrolling left and right. This
along with a preloader would be nice too.
If you have a specific monitot sizing you prefer
it be viewed as, you might want to make a "best
viewed at" option in the beginning -prior to- the
welcome page. |
