alright, so saiyuki is cg... 

so what's there for the cel collector? there's those repro 
sets with the sea green matting. and all the genga/
douga sets. then taro gets some harmony cels (at 
coronary-inducing prices). fair enough. 

recently, though, there were what appeared to be 
actual cels from saiyuki on yj. one was a probably repro 
with a saiyuki movie sticker on the bottom left corner... 
still, the cel itself was pan length with reg holes and 
studio sequence markings up top (the messy marker 
kind), the paint kinda smeared up towards to ends of 
the acetate that weren't 'used'. secondly, there was 
another with no sticker, reg holes/markings up top and 
a matching douga with animator's notes. because i 
don't read much japanese beyond hiragana/katakana 
(and even then...) and because altavista is a poor 
excuse for a translator, i can't figure out what these 
were... and i am very interested in finding out. 
volunteers? ^_^

now, does anyone know something about saiyuki 
having cels that i completely missed? harmony cels are 
understandable to a degree... but average production 
cels? or a new, different kind of reproduction that was 
released for the series? or just some really well-done 
fancels? the prices on both examples above were 
average... so yeah, if there's any other saiyuki-loving 
collectors out there, please tell me whatever you might 
know... i'd appreciate it.
