I got a cel package in the mail today. It was the
same as always-- with my name on scrap paper
taped to the celbags. And then I realized... hey,
this scrap paper has a registration hole and a
sequence number! ...And this one has bits of
pencil sketch on the back! ...Hey, wait a minute,
I know what these used to be!
I was kind of uncomfortable with that. Yeah, I
know a lot of sketches aren't really that great.
And a dealer probably has more of them lying
around than you can shake a stick at. And if it's
their sketch, they can keep it with the cel, or
sell it separately, or shred it into hamster-cage
lining, just like any of us can.
I'm sure they only use the really useless
sketches as scrap paper, because they wouldn't
want to destroy something they could sell-- and
its theirs, anyways, so it's none of my business
what happens to it-- but it still left me feeling
a little uncomfy, especially knowing the volume
of sales they work with.
So rather than saying "Such-and-such is a
horrible person with no respect for sketches!", I
guess my question is-- am I weird for feeling
that way? :o)
