Wow, flashbacks. ^^ I used to post on this board, see a
few names I think I remember. That would have been . .
. gosh, 2 years ago! I'm sure no one remembers me. But
anyway, I've been nearly cold turkey with cels since. No
cels for a few months after a large purchase turned into
a lot longer. Partially because I was starting to get
dangerously addicted to something I couldn't afford,
and partially because I got distracted by another hobby
(cosplay. Which I've realized, I'd actually *save money*
by switching back to cels! Ack!) Anyway, I'm SO out of
the loop. But I think I have the money for a bit of
collecting, and the willpower to keep it under control.
And a specific series has motivated me.

So here's my main question - can any Saiyuki collectors
or generally well-informed collectors tell me anything
about what the market is like for that series? Rarity,
price ranges, number of collectors? I know that it's
digital ink-and-paint (pretty obvious, just by looking at
the series), so that limits it to douga and genga. I've
heard something about repro cels for it, but don't know
what's out there. I'm an especial fan of Genjo Sanzo (*
worships*), if that helps any. I can make some guesses
by looking at the major sites, but I'd appreciate any
insights. And of course if you want to show me your
collection . . . ^^

I'm sorry that it's kind of a vague/silly question, but I
figured it was worth asking. And if you just want to chat
about the state of collecting in general, I'd be interested
in that, as well. I know that right when I "left" the
community, there was much talk about the effects of
CN's programming on collecting and prices, and
concern about digital ink and paint becoming more
prevalent (which it did).

Thanks in advance ^^
