I don't think removing the staples would devalue 
the cel. On the other hand, leaving the staples 
in can place the cel at risk of tearing, due to 
torque at the staple points. However, if the 
staple is keeping layers nicely aligned, you 
might want to leave it in. It's mostly a matter 
of personal preference.
