i also have a xenogears game cel, and it doesn't 
have any registration holes or sequence 
numbers.  it didn't come with a sketch, tho o0...

anyways, i was reassured by the dealer and 
several collectors that this was the way they're 
supposed to be, so i've always assumed this was 
true.  hope that helps,
