Cherry Blossom Festival Anime Marathon

In celebration of this year’s National Cherry Blossom 
Festival, the Freer, in conjunction with Otakorp, Inc., 
presents a daylong festival of four Japanese anime 
films, all in 35 mm with English subtitles. This program 
is held in conjunction with the National Cherry Blossom 
Festival.

Set in a vast city of the future, this visually dazzling 
feature directed by Taro Rin is an exciting science 
fiction tale that asks the question: Can robots fall in 
love? This film is part of the Cherry Blossom Anime 
Festival. 


Escaflowne

Based on the hit TV series by the same name, Kazuki 
Akane’s futuristic fantasy follows a teenager as she is 
magically transported to the mythical land of Gaea, 
where an epic battle between good and evil is raging. 
This film is part of the Cherry Blossom Anime Festival.
