I had purchased my Jubei Chan cel from Anime Taro
back in May when I first started collecting and
had her stored in a Mylar D cel bag. When I took
her out today to fit her a background for framing,
to my dismay, I found some cel line damage.
Apparently, the cel artist had painted in the
front of her cel, especially to outline some
sections on her face and some of the black lines
chipped off because it adhered to the Mylar D cel bag.
It is a lot of very little line chips which you
can't tell unless you look closely and I think I
can easily fix it. But, what kind of utensil do
you use? I know a very fine black marker, but
what kind is good? The cel originally cost me
$100. So it is not a CHEAP cel, but not expensive
enough to pay a professional to fix it. Any
suggestions?
Also, a very big warning. I read about these
warnings about Mylar D cel bags causing the cel
paint to adhere to it and chip and did indeed
proceed with caution. Had I known at the time the
cel had paint in the fron, I would have never
stored her in a Mylar D! So try not to use those
if at all possible! They tend to be more
expensive and are not even as decent as those 10
cent Polyester bags! Grrrr . . .
