I have to comment that my absolute favorite thing 
I've seen that fits this theme is in Digi Charat, 
when the animators have all the characters switch 
into and out of "American animation". I nearly 
fell out of my chair laughing, seeing them all 
basically looking like cheap Superman imitations.

Asylum Anime used to have one for sale, but it 
must have sold, or I'd point it out. ^_^;
