Well, since it brings up here i shall express my
opinion.... Copy protection for CDs (as well as
DVD region zones for DVDs for example) is in my
opinion not a way to avoid piracy but a way to
promote new ways of piracy and make things
difficult to people like you and me who purchase
original items....

The CD protection was designed to avoid music CDs
to be played on a PC (and this way to prevent
ripping to mp3) but as an issue of that being
illegal (everybody should be able to play a CD on
a CD Player with CD official logo even if it's in
a PC) they came up with a bad trick that basically
consists on an autoplay program that reproduces
low wmv quality versions of the songs.... so "you
cannot argue that the cd doesn't play in your CD
player and issue a money refund claiming the cd to
be defective".... but it's still illegal.....

Anyway as i say, this CD protection thing only
makes piracy to act more agresively... There are
lots of programs that can rip these "supposed"
protected CDs.

Don't take me wrong, i'm completely against
piracy, even though i run an anime/game mp3 site.
I post songs with the hope that some (probably
few) people may decide to purchase the CDs..... I
know most of my visitors are just leechers who
don't care about the cds (50% of my visitors are
from Japan so that proves it) but even if it's
only a few people who purchases the cds after
downloading the files from my site it's enough for
me.....

Well, imagine how annoyed i am because i have to
use an special program to rip those CDs or to use
an special device on my PS2 to be able to play
legally imported R1 DVDs from US (I'm from
Europe). I just think it's not fair for me or for
people like me, I find reasonable having to pay
the shipping price from the US/Japan and even the
import taxes at the customs but if i pay for the
original stuff i should be able to watch / listen
to it without having to use some tricks....

Oh well.... enough rant.... for those who want to
listen to some nice music just go to my page and
grab some (and purchase the CDs if you like the
