I have seen on a couple of auctions such as
Mandarake where dealers are selling cels with
lines that have also been "retouched". I am
guessing that this was from the animator who made
the cel, right??
Now my question is, how can anyone tell if a cel
line has been retouched? I am not referring to a
whole section, but like a very small section.
How does retracing a line affect the quality and
price of the cel? Would it increase in value or
would it make it less? I have a cel that has a
very small spek of black line misisng on his lip.
This is a VERY expensive cel and it really is not
noticeable until you look at the screen cap.
Now I am not planning on ever selling it, but I
have this thing against cels with "noticeable"
imperfections. So, would you recomend I go back
and retouch the line on his lip or should I just
leave it be or hire a professional to do it
instead? Thanks for your input.
