Did a brief google search and an article 
specifically about collecting Tolkien cels starts 
off with "Since I have never seen a cel for sale 
from the Rankin/Bass movies..."  I would guess 
that many/most were either destroyed (*shiver*) or 
locked away in a deep cavern?  :(
