I used to have some of my cels framed and
displayed, but when I noticed the lines were
fading dispite the conservation glass, I put them
back into binders.
Afterward, I took my four absolute favorites to a
conservation shop with a real photo printer (uses
something with the consistancy of wax instead of
ink). They scanned them on a 4800 dpi scanner
(used for museum prints of original art), then
printed them on 10x13 sheets of duralar (think of
a REALLY thick transparancy). They framed them
for me in shadowbox style frames. The final
product is damn near identical to the framed cel.
The only problem with this approach is that the
framed prints cost about $100 a piece. Still, the
cels themselves were each worth $500+ so I
thought it was worth it. Then again, I spent $250
to get my LoN put into a sealed museum frame with
inert gas, so I might go a little overboard with
preservation. ;P
