Drac had the right idea (see her post just above
yours); you didn't.
Normally, I also wouldn't like someone to post
auctions on this forum at all. It's a
competitive enough hobby to begin with and I
don't see the point in getting more bidders
involved in an auction and disadvantage the few
collectors who actually took the time and effort
to look for the auction themselves.
But if you want to point out an auction to
someone who specifically was inquiring about a
pertainable item, then you should handle that
privately. Have them e-mail you or e-mail that
person yourself.
It follows good etiquette. If you were driving
on a crowded freeway, for instance, it's okay to
let one car on a busy lane to move into yours
ahead of you. But if you start letting multiple
cars go in ahead of you, then you are bring
extremely DISCOURTEOUS to the drivers behind
you. (Most bad drivers don't seem to get that.)
Or if you don't drive a car, the same principle
applies to waiting in a long line. People in
line may be okay with you letting a friend cut
in with you or having you hold a spot for one
person. But when you're letting 4-6 people cut
into the line, then you're crossing a line that
most people behind you will NOT appreciate.
It's common sense and maybe it's something you
and anyone else who wants to reveal auctions
should think about.
Plus the fact that you wouldn't have to deal
with negative feedback that you just received
from folks like Annoyed (and it's somewhat
understandable on their part). |
