If you like "software" firewalls I'd
suggest "Zonelabs". Norton is very pervasive and
is not worth all the hype IMO. ZL It is very easy
to configure, set up, and not so labor intesive
on your system resources. Easy to turn on an off
with a click of the mouse, and is cheaper than
Norton. You can test drive it for free on cnet.com
Honestly, all of the "software" firewalls are
probably beatable anyway by a real hacker-- if
that is what you are worried about. If you
want "real" protection, you need to turn to other
means, like "hardware"-- starting with a NAT
enabled router, access lists, proxy server, pix
firewall. etc. But who is going corporate,
right? :-)
