Notice the shimenawa, or "boundary rope" tied 
around the trunk of the tree. The zig-zag folded-
paper shime attached to it serve to identify the 
cherry tree as the power spot around which this 
particular Shinto shrine has been built. 

This is absolutely the most gorgeous tree cel 
that I have ever seen, and I hug it every morning 
and every evening.
