I am trying to decide how excited I should get, 
and unfortunately I am at work and I don't have 
the cels with me to look at, so the more I learn, 
the more I want to race home and check to see if 
they are real.

Here's the story: I think I might have two Speed 
Racer cels, but they could be something else. I 
think I recognize Speed Racer and Racer X, but I 
don't know much about this stuff and didn't grow 
up with Speed Racer, so it could be some other 
anime I am confusing it with.

My husband and I bought a house in '99, and found 
some boxes left in the attic. We bought the house 
from an older widow, and we didn't think it was 
hers, so we sold some stuff and kept some. The 
boxes contained some original die-cast Star Wars 
figures, not in mint condition, Star Wars toys 
that had been played with, some comic books from 
WWII that were dogeared but packed in plastic, a 
bunch of weird, super-geeky cheap books and some 
small coin collections.

Also in there were 3 cels. One I gave to my 
brother and it was some sort of space character. 
The other two look like Speed Racer, but I'm 
thinking this is very unlikely. They have numbers 
and letters at the top, but like I said, they are 
not with me right now.

If I really do have Speed Racer cels, what would 
they be worth? (I know it would be a lot.) Also, 
what are the chances? How many cels even made it 
to the states probably?
