I did that once. Freeze to the point of indecision
and lose both things I wanted. That was a learning
experience. . . I never just stood by and let it
happen again. (Because it sucked. ~_~;;)
Now what I do, if I really *truly* like both
items completely equally, is evaluate them from a
different direction. If it's an auction, I look
at both auctions to determine if one would be
easier to win. Maybe I can be there to babysit
one, but not the other. Maybe outside competition
should be less of an issue for one of them. Or
(on Yahoo Japan) a foreign-bidder-friendly seller
is a BIG advantage over needing a deputy.
If the items are at an online store, there's the
chance of getting it to consider. With stores like
Museum and Animaxis, if the item isn't marked as
sold, chances are 99.99% sure if I order it, I
get it. Whereas if I place my order with a store
that doesn't have immediate inventory updating,
the item could already have been sold out long
before I even looked at it anyway. I'd probably
go with the more sure bet.
That's what I mean by evaluating them from a
different direction. I like them both and want
them both equally, so the only question left
is: "Which one is easier/more sure to get?" ^_^
