Publicity.
I didn't even know the Vampire D movie existed,
while every commercial you see out there is of
the movies nominated. Aniem fans might have
known, some didn't. Anime is getting more well
known, but it still hasn't probably come that far
that it's on every American's mind or other
countries. That's why it probably wasn't. Oscar
is Hollywood. The movies nominated are well
known, if not overly-publicied or something. But
then again, you have Pokemon, that everyone knows
of.
If the people know more about it, if you hear
about it a lot, then maybe. Never heard about it
until someone mentioned it here in the forum. If
it wasn't mentioned, would not have known
anything about it. It needed more advertising and
publicity.
And I'm a huge fan of Russel Crowe. *sighs* Too
bad there no cels of him! :) I hope he wins, he
is truly the best actor I know next to a lot of
other big ones, next to Mel Gibson. I knew he was
going to be BIG and famous when I saw him in
Virtuosity. God, that man has APPEAL.
Anyway, back to cels. *shrugs* If more talk show
hosts or other well known movie stars wer talking
about it, it might have gotten nominated. Hire a
few big named stars to mention it and then...
