Good points, all, and I do appreciate them.

I am totally torn on just the issues you raise, 
because my existing gallery, while nothing to 
shout about (look up "plain vanilla page" in the 
dictionary and you'll find my site; see above 
link) was my first experience building a web page.

Dreamweaver is SO very nice to use, and having 
now learned how to do it, I'm reluctant to give 
up on it entirely.  On the other hand, I'm sure 
my doctoral program would be happier with me if I 
spent that time reading in the field... :), the 
boss would be happier if I were 
reading/researching in THIS field, etc, etc.  You 
get the picture.

so... thus the pondering.
