But our story doesn't end there! We haven't
gotten to the cels yet. Collecting anime dolls
led me to discover even more wonderful Japanese
dolls: Takara Jenny and Licca. I always found
Barbie to be a bit over the top, but Jenny and
her pals with their sweet, innocent expressions
and awesome wardrobe of school uniforms and
trendy casual clothes really made my head
turn. "Pals", you ask? Well, that's what make
Takara dolls so cool: the friends. Jenny has a
boatload of friends (and boyfriends) all with
different face molds, hair styles, and
personalities. You're bound to find at least one
that you like! And in an ironic turn, Jenny even
made me learn to appreciate Barbie, particularly
dolls and fashions from the Mod era, like Francie
(the revolutionarygirl.com image girl!).

Anime cels came into the picture in early 2000. I
had admired them for years, but found the series
that I wished to collect to be too expensive.
Then one day, I stumbled upon Japan Animetime,
who had two affordable cels from Utena for sale.
I bought them. Then there was a cool Rayearth cel
at Anime Taro. Bought that. Then Nick had an oh-
so-cute, yet really cheap Kero chan cel. Couldn't
resist. Then Hobby Shop K had some cheap Cowboy
Bebop cels for sale. You get the picture--it just
snowballed.

Which brings us to the present. I'm currently on
a cel diet, but there's no lack of things to burn
money on, including:

an occasional Takara doll or fashion
Anime DVDs and CDs
Lord of the Rings stuff
Japanese language materials
Video games (Gameboy Advance)
Books
Clothes (I have a weakness for Tommy Hilfiger and
Ralph Lauren--when on sale of course. ^_^;)

So there you have it! Hope you all enjoyed
Revolutionarygirl's Odyssey of Collecting!
