^_^  Noticed this thread a little late.

Actually, the very first commission I did was for 
a girl who saw some of my ebay auctions (non cel 
acutions, I had a link to my website and she saw 
my at the time itty-bitty cel gallery) and wanted 
to know if I could paint her an inu yasha cel 
since her birthday was coming up and she really 
really wanted one but didn't know if there even 
were any (This was back when only 3 or 4 eps were 
out in Japan, so I didn't know if there would be 
cels either.  I also only had a couple of cels 
under my belt at the time, and I drew/painted her 
a cel to her specifications)  She was just 
soooooo happy when she got it!  

That's why I started doing cel commissions 
actually.

I just love getting a really pretty cel to 
someone who absolutely  loves the 
character/series and would never be able to get a 
decent cel otherwise.  Makes you feel all warm 
and fuzzy inside.  

...the fact that some people are bastards and 
will take advantage of not-too-informed 
collectors and fancel artists was something I 
only came across recently, and didn't even know 
existed until I started visiting this board.

It's ok, the fuzzy feeling still outweighs the 
annoyance ^_^
