Here's a question about Ebay bidders and Ebay policy (Mon Apr 8 17:08:05 2002 )

We all know that Ebay's got issues as does
any auction site. However, does anyone know
if there is a way to prevent a bidder from
biding who has no plans on buying? For
example, you have an auction, in the last 30
seconds of the auction, a bidder bids and
wins. Never bidding before during the length.
The bidder who bids has just changed their ID
name or is a new user. Oddly enough, they
either changed their ID or became a new user
the day of the auction ending. Oddly enough, a
few days later, their user name is no longer
registered.

And yes, this did happen to me and did
register a complaint to Ebay who politely
explained that they couldn't tell me if they were
the ones who pulled the user or if the user
pulled it themselves and I can block bidders
but I have to no the bidder's user name before
they try and bid to block. Which seems to
defeat the purpose, doesn't it?

But how does one prevent this from
happening to future auctions? Or is there even
a solution?

Any ideas? :)
