Hi,
I have often heard that the Japanese cel
community is almost just like the American cel
community. There is always a lot of tension and
a lot of competition. Ive always wondered what it
must be like to be Japanese and have to compete
with a very aggressive American market. I bid on
YJ here and there, and the couple items I have
won have gotten up to some decently high prices,
Id say 500$ give or take 50$. Then, I wonder
what it must be like to be a Japanese collector,
and seeing Celga's name or Sato's name come up on
your auction. Is it frustrating to Japanese
collectors? Are they just as passionate about
the cels as we are? And, Im curious as to what
shows the Japanese consider hot items right now,
and if there is as much politics and networking
involved in getting the cels as there is here in
the US. Do they have big cel conventions? This
must sound like a really negative post, but it's
not. Im just very interested in knowing what
it's like over there, and if it's as, uhh,
interesting as it is over here. Anyone care to
fill us in? |
