you thought I meant winners so 6 would invariably
win? oh my poor hands... and eyes.. and skin
after all that painting! But think of it this
way, the last digit was the only thing that
didn't overlap in the times of two of the three
first correct entries, and it was completely
random in and of itself that Kari got the high
number, 6. I didn't want to be anything but
vague about the 'what's your favorite number'
else someone might have figured out my plot, and
that wouldn't have been fair. I could have just
as easily done something like add up the digits
in the times and award the prize to the highest
sum or something like that, which might seem less
fixed to you, but statistically, would have been
just as random. If the number 6 was the natural
choice, each person had a one in ten chance of
getting it. ^_~ I've taken way too much math for
it to be good for me.
As for the site that was down... well, I tried to
get the most sturdy sites possible by staying
away from geocities and using anything that was a
domain name on its own as much as possible, but,
well, never bet your life on the internet.
The fact that half the people who were able to
get me correct lists were able to give me the
addy from a downed site only proves to me that...
well damn, they know their stuff and they
*really* do deserve their prizes |
