Maybe I am wrong, and I don't want anyone to take
this the wrong way!!!
Shouldn't Silent Auctions truly be 'Silent'?
What I mean is... I always though silent auctions
worked this way: You place your bid, and at the
end of the time you find out if you won.
The silent auctions I have seen lately work like
this : You place your bid, the seller tells you
if it's the highest or not, and you have the
option to bid higher and higher.
I just think it gives the seller an advantage to
manipulate prices if he or she so chooses. AND I
AM NOT ACCUSING ANYONE OF THIS!!!!! PLEASE DO
NOT JUMP DOWN MY THROAT ABOUT IT!!!!!
Anyhoo.... just thought I'd see what everyone
elses opinions were. In my opinion, you should
bid what you will pay, and then wait for
results. I also think that it makes it easier
for the seller, not having to juggle back and
forth all the time and keep track of 10 different
offers from each person interested.
Then again, I could be totally off my rocker.
Does anyone know how silent auctions are really
supposed to work?!?
Thanks for any info!
