I think ebay does the smallest amount of
enforcement they possibly can, and still be able
to claim they police things. In my talking to
safeharbor people, it seems like most complaints
get a cut-and-paste reply unless you go, "that's a
cut-and-paste reply, this affects YOUR ability to
make money, and ebay's reputaion." Then they pipe
up. I am talking to one safeharbor person, I hope
to amass enough info to get these 3 ID's kicked
off. I know she'll keep coming back, but at least
I'm costing her money- she has to keep making
honest buys to establish an ID, hopefully staying
on her will frustrate her. I encourage you all to
keep watch of her on auctions- if we can get a
database of info together, maybe we can convince
someone to take action.
As for how she keeps getting on, she keeps making
new "@home" addresses mostly- I think @home users
must get multiple addresses or something. We do at
roadrunner (my ISP) so I assume other ISP's do
it too. She also uses some hotmail addys, I don't
know how she verifies with that, but I do know for
sure all 3 id's are her, it's all too coincidental
(and she mailed me twice, one time admitting as
much that she is harrypotter753, she even brought
up the paypal crimes without my ever mentioning
those hijinks.
