Basically, it comes down to $$$ when all is said 
and done. To be more specific, it had to do with 
the combination of the following reasons (in no 
particular order)...

mortgage
new car loan
hard winter (oil bills)
taxes (ISO   AMT = me w/ headache!)
waning interest in anime & cels
existing hobbies vying for attention
new hobbies working their way in
stock market tanking
lodoss = $$$$ (this was my main collecting 
attraction)
