US Priority Mail has been, for the most part,
right on schedule these past few weeks. However,
I would make a condition on that statement. Cels
sent to me from various parts of the United
States have reached me on schedule. The only
exception is that an Anime Assault cel (origin:
Utah) took almost of full week rather than 2-3
days to reach me (California).
On the other hand, I sent out a package to Texas
via US Priority Mail and it took 8-9 days to
finally reach its intended destination. I figure
that it got lost somewhere and then found again
(thank goodness). Such mix-ups should be
anticipated at this time.
Shipments from Canada usually take longer, so you
should be more patient with those. Some cels
that I purchased from a Canadian collector took
over a month to reach me (but that was a
combination of waiting for my check to clear, her
getting over some flu/cold, and having the cels
shipped via ground whatever else could go
wrong).
On the other hand, a shipment from a Canadian
retailer just last week took less than 6 days to
reach me. It was sent via airmail.
Finally, a payment I sent via airmail to Japan
arrived in the expected 7-10 days, so there
doesn't appear to be any delays that way. Of
course, receiving packages from Japan is going to
take a while, since there appeared to be a major
back-log as a result of the Japan-US air travel
stoppage.
Because of the initial disruption of air travel
and mail service, we should certainly expect a
few mix-ups. My advice is always to utilize
Delivery Confirmation or some type of tracking
service. |
