By typing in the keyword "Agedama" into a search 
engine, you will find a lot of links regarding 
this title.

It appears to have been a popular children's show 
in Japan, but because it was a long-running 
Japanese children's show I seriously doubt that 
any American distributor was ever interested in 
licensing it (there are way too many).  Only 
Pocket Monsters, Digimon, Medabots, and much more 
recent series have been able to reach the US in 
any widespread fashion.

The show was also popular enough in Japan to 
spawn one or more older video games.
