In the past year and a half, my life needed a bit
of distraction in order to maintain my sanity. My
father is going through the final stages of Non-
Hodgkins Lymphoma, a form of cancer that is
killing Vietnam veterans at an alarming rate
these days. After all the treatments and
therapies, we are entering the home stretch in
his fight. I am thankful for this hobby and for
all the people I have met who have stopped to
help me, email me or sell me a cel or two. I am
even thankful for the flamers who gave me someone
to rail on every so often when I needed to blow
off some steam. Right now I am in school every
weekday from 7am-7pm, and the rest of my time is
spent either working or studying. It is nice to
have a hobby like this where I can spend a moment
and look at the beautiful cels I have acrued and
feel a bit better. While money is short and my
family is often broke, every so often I win at
the local casino and get to treat myself to a cel
that I want. Thank you everyone for being just
the right distraction that I have needed. |
