On a recent trip to Japan, I had the opportunity
to purchase the 2 new YUA reproduction cels (one
w/ the two in yukatas - very nice - and the other
one w/ the pair in swimsuits). However the
swimsuit one has not been put on sale to the
general public. What happened was that the store
I was at offered to sell me their sample copy.
While these cels are usually limited to 100, this
sample one has no seriel number. What I would
like to know is: what is the relative value of
these sort of samples compared to the numbered
versions. On of the store employees was telling
me that these sample copies tend to be worth more
because there are fewer issued, thus rarer than
the numbered ones. I'm guessing that he was
telling me the truth and not just telling me that
to get me to buy it because he also said stores
tend to keep these samples for themselves.
