Just because the Urd cel appears to be a repro
doesn't mean that the seller's other AMG cels are
repros too. (Actually, the Urd cel is pretty
cute and is probably worth the buy-it-now price
even as a repro.) And I also believe that a lot
of sellers don't know that their AMG cels may not
be production cels. It's sometimes very
difficult to tell, and the Belldandy cel is a
tough call, as I have said in an email to person
with the original question. (Along the same
lines, I wouldn't be totally surprised if some of
the cels in my own collection are repros.)
Still, I have to wonder why the buy-it-now price
was a small fraction of what the production cel
would go for at most dealers or on extended
auctions on ebay or Yahoo Japan. It seems a
little high for a repro but not out of the
question for someone who values its beauty. Or
perhaps the seller just isn't knowledgeable about
the approximate market value of Belldandy
production cels of that caliber. Or perhaps he
does know its worth and is being kind-hearted to
some AMG fan. Who can say? |
